James Beard award winning chef Angela Pinkerton baking “grandma style” pies.
Moving to New York City in 2007, Angela Pinkerton quickly rose through the ranks to become the executive pastry chef at the fine-dining destination Eleven Madison Park Restaurant. She was named Outstanding Pastry Chef in 2011 by the James Beard Foundation and was a key contributor to the restaurant achieving a four-star review by the New York Times, three stars from the Michelin Guide, and topping the San Pellegrino list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants.
Beginning a new chapter in the Bay Area in 2015, Angela oversaw the kitchen of modern pastry shop Craftsman & Wolves and started her own consulting company, Pinkerton Confectionery. In 2018 she partnered up to open Che Fico, and then its sequel Che Fico Alimentari, both in the NoPa neighborhood in SF.
Angela is currently consulting and having fun with her pie shop. Pie Society was born out of a desire to comfort folks during the height of the pandemic. Angela and her small team bake modern flavor takes on “grandma style” pies out of their Workshop Kitchen in Berkeley, CA.
