🥘 Home of the traditional rice dish of Spain
Angee and Christian were gearing up for their daughter's first birthday celebration in 2018 and had an idea: To feed their family and friends, they decided that they wanted to try out Christian's dad's paella recipe, instead of the traditional lechon (roasted pig). This wasn't just an ordinary recipe for paella, though. It was and is more of a family heirloom that Christian's dad honed over decades. Paella has been a part of this family for many generations, with roots in Madrid where Christian's father grew up and learned to make paella from a long lineage before him. It combines technique and passion, passed down from generation to generation.
Now in the hands of Christian, their family and friends fell hard for the flavorful paella — that special socarrat, or crunch of the rice, the insanely flavorful garlic aioli — and began begging for Angee and Christian to cater their events. They gave in to the persistence of their family and friends and decided it was time to launch Mestizo Paella. Angee and Christian love food and more specifically paella, and take such great pleasure in sharing their love of the dish to the Bay Area.
