Jamaican and Creole flavors unite in bold, culturally rooted Caribbean dishes.
Shani Jones is the owner and chef of Peaches Patties, one of San Francisco’s few Caribbean food outfits. The inspiration behind the business was her mother, whose nickname is “Peaches,” and who makes the most delicious homemade Jamaican beef patties. Her mother is a native of Kingston, Jamaica, while her father was born in New Orleans. In the Jones household, that cultural collaboration resulted in eclectic dinners: grilled meats with Jamaican flavors served on the same table as Creole stews and gumbos. This spurred Shani’s love of bold spices and culturally rooted recipes.
Peaches Patties prides itself on baking a variation of fresh homemade Jamaican patties and other popular dishes, using fresh ingredients and flavorful spices. The goal is to give everyone in the Bay Area the experience of authentic Jamaican culture through the patties, warm service, and vibrant island cuisine.
