Born of the pandemic but here to stay is Jina Bakes, the newest addition to San Francisco's Japantown. Jina Kim, former sous chef of Alexander's Patisserie, started baking and delivering quarantine boxes around the Bay Area during shelter in place from her home kitchen. When the opportunity arose, she formed Jina Bakes and found a permanent brick and mortar location in Japantown. In collaboration with local Korean restaurant Daeho, Jina introduced the first-of-its-kind kalbijjim (a Korean braised short rib) croissant which is a customer favorite and a must-try!
